Blood is thicker than water
But blood or water, which is less vital?
Blood or water
We have contributed our quota
Save the blood and purify the water

Bread and buttered together
Avians of the same feather
Caught in the same fetter
How could I be better?
As I returned alone to my chamber
Still hoping for the better

Head bent for a chatter
Heaving after a batter
Blood or water
I stand to be better
Now that the struggle is over
Although these struggles we both bear on our mind’s platter

*Written in memory of the ASUU strike (July 1 to December 17 2013), forever a part of our history.
